10 years of creativity, innovation and impact in Mauritius.

For its 10th edition, Digital November returns to Mauritius with a month of events dedicated to creativity, innovation and digital cultures.

Under the theme ‘Between the Lines’, this anniversary edition invites us to look beyond our screens: to understand algorithms, examine our relationship with artificial intelligence, experiment with new forms of creativity and imagine together the digital uses of tomorrow. Throughout November, the Institut français de Maurice and its partners are offering training courses, workshops, debates, virtual reality, video mapping, artificial intelligence, FabLab, video games and esports. This programme brings together the arts, science, education and innovation, with the aim of making Mauritius a true laboratory for digital cultures in the Indian Ocean.

Friday 6 November | 6pm–9pm | Plaza, Rose-Hill

To kick off this anniversary edition, Digital November is taking over the Plaza for a big family-friendly, interactive evening organised in partnership with the Beau-Bassin / Rose-Hill Town Hall, on the eve of Divali.

On the programme: virtual reality experiences, robotics, laser engraving, 3D printing, digital activities, street food, music and dance.

From 7.00 pm to 9.00 pm, the Plaza will be transformed into a giant digital canvas with an interactive video-mapping show conceived by Maxime Touroute and Max Anish Gowriah: the audience will be able to take part in the visual transformation of this iconic building.

Film club programme

For the past ten years, Digital November has been building bridges between artists, students, researchers, professionals, creators and the general public.

Because digital technology should not merely be consumed but understood, questioned, reimagined and created, the IFM invites everyone to play an active role in the transformations currently taking place.

This November, come and read between the lines of the future with us.
