The cooperation policy is implemented, under the authority of the Embassy, by the Cooperation and Cultural Action Service (SCAC) integrated into the French Institute of Mauritius. The SCAC’s mission is to support the design, study, and implementation of cooperation projects between France and Mauritius in priority areas, which include culture, education, civil society, sports, and digital technology.
Promote access to digital culture and sports as a means to raise awareness of gender equality.
Strengthen the adaptability of girls and young women in response to changes in their environment.
Promote leadership and life skills among vulnerable women.
The SCAC also oversees French-curriculum schools accredited by the Agency for French Education Abroad (AEFE), which currently educate nearly 5,400 students in Mauritius.
The cultural dimension of cooperation primarily falls under the responsibility of the French Institute of Mauritius.
