The French Institute of Mauritius is part of the vast network of French Institutes present in more than 140 countries around the world. As an operator of France’s international cultural policy, under the authority of the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, this network carries out ambitious cultural initiatives firmly oriented towards the future.
It is the French cultural centre that promotes the French language and culture in Mauritius. It offers French courses, cultural events such as film screenings, performances, exhibitions, and a media library. It also supports Franco-Mauritian cultural and academic exchanges across various fields.
The French Institute of Mauritius contributes to the dialogue between cultures, the circulation of ideas, and the promotion of contemporary artistic creation through a diverse cultural programme, key cooperation projects, and exchanges and mobility opportunities across all fields of art and culture, public debate, knowledge, and science.
